Two juveniles killed in fatal road accidents
Two juveniles have died in two separate fatal road traffic accidents in Central Province.
Provincial Police Commanding Officer, Donald Mwandila, has confirmed the development in an interview with ZANIS in Kabwe and named the victims as Anita Chabala of Kasokota area in Mkushi and Michael Mwansa, a grade one pupil of Sacred Heart Primary School in Kabwe’s Lukanga area.
Mr Mwandila said the first incidence occurred on Wednesday around 17: 00 hours at Mkushi’s Kasokota area adding that involved was a Toyota Allion Registration number BAE 7955 which was driven by a male, Karren Tembo, of unmarked house in Chifubu Township in Ndola.
He explained that the accident happened when the driver failed to control the motor vehicle and hit the victim, crushing her head and killing her instantly.
The Provincial Police Chief said the second incident occurred yesterday involving an Iveco Bus Registration number ZAF 4221D, property of the Zambia Air Force (ZAF).
He said the bus was being driven by Sergeant, Shadrick Harawa, aged 39 of Kohima Barracks in Kabwe.
He attributed the accident to excessive speeding and said the grade one child sustained a crushed head and died on the spot.
Mr Mwandila said the bodies of the victims have been deposited at Mkushi District Hospital and Kabwe Central Hospital mortuaries awaiting postmortems. -ZANIS
