INCREASING fuel prices simply shows thar government doesn’t care for the ordinary people, Rainbow Party National spokesperson Humphrey Kabwe has said.
He said the Rainbow party is really disappointed with President Hakainde Hichilema’s government decision to increase the fuel pump price.
Mr Kambwe said, “This increase will cause a rise in the cost of transportation and food commodities thus making the lives of the people difficult.
“During their time in opposition, UPND promised to reduce fuel prices but surprisingly today they have done the exact opposite.
As the Rainbow party, we appeal to President Hakainde Hichilema to have sympathy for the people who voted for him and rescind the decision to hike fuel prices because it will cause misery to the people,” Mr Kabwe said.
Mr Kabwe said people voted for him in order to improve their lives but what is being done is the opposite.
“Increasing fuel prices is punishing the people that voted for you to uplift their lives,” he said.
Meanwhile Mr Kabwe said it is clear that UPND does not know anything about seeing the route it has taken to rule the country.
He said one wonders if the leaders in the UPND government have ever lived in Zambia before.
“UPND did not have and still they don’t have a clear agenda but they rather jump on every situation and make them as an agenda,” he said.
