HH expected in Dubai for business Expo – Kakubo

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema is expected in Dubai today to attend Zambia’s national day at the World Expo 2020.

President Hichilema has been invited by Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai Mohammed Him Rashid Almaktoum, to grace the World Expo on Thursday under the theme: Come Zambia, a land of peace and opportunities.

Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Stanley Kakubo disclosed that the President is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu Dhabi, signifying Zambia’s  growing notable presence on the global stage.

Mr Kakubo said President Hichilemat will also hold meetings with the Emirates Investment Authority, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and DP World.

He disclosed that Zambia is among 192 countries participating at the Dubai expo, which runs from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

He explained that over 40 Zambian companies are expected to participate in the event to showcase the country’s enormous potential for trade, investment, tourism and cultural endowments.

President Hichilema is expected to return on Saturday.
