PARENTS CRY FOR COVID-19 PFIZER VACCINE FOR CHILDREN
By FLAVOUR KANUNGO
SOME parents from Central and Copperbelt provinces have expressed displeasure at delays by Government to distribute Pfizer vaccines to various health facilities.
The Pfizer vaccine is currently the recommended vaccines for children between the age of 12 and 18.
Last year, the government extended the vaccination program to children between the age of 12 and 18 after the country recorded covid 19 related deaths among children.
Some parents talked to say the non-availability of vaccines if not quickly addressed may discourage a lot of parents from taking their children for vaccination.
Parents have also lamented that lack of proper sensitization messages to both parents and children is another hindrance as most parents do not understand the concept of covid vaccination.
They have since appealed to government to take the vaccination of children seriously by ensuring that vaccines are provided.
