Red hot arrows seek revenge

By MICHAEL MIYOBA

AFTER Opening a five points lead at the summit of the MTN/FAZ Super League table, Red Arrows will today seek revenge against Kitwe giants Nkana FC when the two teams lock horns in a Week-20 Super League fixture at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

Nkana is credited for having given the Airmen their first defeat of the season following a 1-0 beating recorded in September last year at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.

Boosted by their 5-0 thumping of Kansanshi Dynamos in their last fixture, Arrows will fight to give Nkana their sixth defeat of the season.

Striker James Chamanga is expected to bounce back for the Arrows side which will be hoping to see their fans outnumber the passionate Nkana fans after announcing that the game will be free for all Arrows fans.

Meanwhile Nkana will seek to break Arrows’s 13 games unbeaten run and reduce the points deference to three.

The Kitwe giants who are fourth on the Super League table with 30 points will look to the striking partnership of Alex Ngo’nga and Ronald Kampamba to get the needed goals which may propel them to second.

In other Super League fixtures, Power Dynamos will seek to bounce back to winning ways when they host Prison Leopards after dropping two points at Independence Stadium in Choma following a goalless draw against Green Eagles in their last fixture.

The tie at Arthur Davies Stadium will be the second of the double header as Indeni and Kafue Celtics are scheduled to clash in a lunch time kick off.

At the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Buildcon FC will seek to bounce back from their defeat to Prison Leopards when they take on Forest Rangers who are aiming to start their life without coach Tennant Chembo on a positive note.

Meanwhile, defending champions, ZESCO United will fight to complete a double over relegation threatened Chambishi FC at Chambishi Stadium after the first round fixture ended 2-0 in favor of the Ndola giants.

Zesco coach, Numba Mumamba, will hope for the best from his newly signed striker, Pedro Miguel who started his life in Zesco United colors with a lone goal which inspired Zesco to a 1-0 win over Kabwe Warriors last week.

Kabwe Warriors who are yet to record a win under coach Chris Kaunda will host struggling Kansanshi Dynamos who will be led by Dominic Yobe following the dismissal of Tennant Chilumba who was fired after the heavy defeat to Red Arrows.

At Sunset Stadium in Lusaka, Green Buffaloes who have gone seven games without a win, will seek redemption by completing a double over rivals Zanaco who will be seeking revenge for the 2-0 defeat suffered the last time the two teams clashed. Sunday’s Super League action will see Lusaka Dynamos hosting Green Eagles at Nkoloma stadium while Nkwazi will face Konkola Blades at Edwin Imboela Stadium.
