STOP COMPLAINING, WAIT FOR YOUR TIME IN COURT, PFLEADERS TOLD

By OLIVER SAMBOKO

FORMER Ministers and other senior government officials who served under PF should stop crying foul over their arrests because they were warned and given amnesty but refused to take advantage, says UPND Alliance member Leslie Chikuse.

Mr Chikuse said there is no witch-hunt  and that those facing the law should stop complaining and blaming the government but wait for their time in court to defend themselves because it’s them who refused to take advantage of the amnesty. He said contrary to PF claims that their members are being targeted in politically motivated criminal charges, the police under the leadership of the UPND Alliance Government are operating independently without any political interference.

Mr Chikuse said it’s sad that while the PF leaders are apologizing to Zambians for the wrongs they committed against Zambians, they are at the same time, refusing to surrender the loot.

He said there is supposed to be a reciprocation by PF by admitting that they stole and willing to surrender that  which they illegally got from the Zambian people.

Mr Chikuse said even after expiry of the amnesty provided by the UPND government, those who could have been involved in corruption are still at liberty to come forward and will be protected by the ACC Act which provides for plea agreements.

He warned Zambians again listening to PF as they are just after deceiving the country and when given another opportunity to rule, change their mind and start looting state coffers again.
