‘THERE IS STILL HOPE FOR AGRICULTURE’

By TAWANDA MUNYUKI

DESPITE the continued unfavorable weather conditions, hope is not lost for the agriculture sector to still thrive, National Union for Small Scale Farmers in Zambia executive director Ebony Lolozhi  has said.

Mr Lolozhi  said yesterday,  there is hope for the sector to thrive and those that depend on it as business to still make some profit despite the unfavorable weather patterns.

He says this can be done through re-planting of different seeds especially the early maturing variety.

Mr Lolozhi said farming is a source of income and a business for many farmers who have been hit with the unfavorable weather conditions and are at the verge of making huge losses.

He however  said  with replanting the farmers can still make some profit from their produce.

Mr Lolozhi said the agriculture sector has been hit badly because of the bad weather in some areas of the country adding that this should be a wake up to have modalities in place so that farmers do not make losses in future.
