Two brothers have cheated death after a sewer trench they were digging in Lusaka’s matero township collapsed and buried them alive.
The survivors are general workers of a Chinese construction company.
According to eye witnesses, one of the two unidentified brothers managed to come out of the trench while the other was saved by some residents who came to his rescue after they heard calls for help.
The duo have since been taken to Matero first level hospital for medical attention.
And area Councillor LEE MUKUPA has condemned the negligence by the contractor saying he has engaged the company on a number of concerns but no action has been taken.
Efforts to get the contractor failed by press time.
