VIOLENT attacks on a civil servant while on duty is shameful and a blemish on the country’s peaceful co- existence and the rule of law, the UPND Alliance has said.
Suspected UPND cadres on Friday mercilessly assaulted a District Administrative Officer for Kasama, Beauty Namukoko on allegations that she refused to process their papers for the youth empowerment program because she was a PF member
Alliance Spokesperson, Daniel Shimunza said the act was criminal and police should ensure that the thugs are found and punished in accordance with the law.
Dr. Shimunza said the law enforcement agencies should not hesitate to bring to book anyone breaking the law in the name of politics.
‘’Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba does not need to wait to be prodded to immediately swing into action, but must swiftly carry out the mandate given to him under the constitution of the land,’’ he said.He said no one should be spared from prosecution regardless of political persuasion and President Hakainde Hichilema has been clear on the matter
