Investigations on Luswishi farm block in Lufwanyama district should be expedited in order to ease anxiety among settlers, Caritas Zambia has said.
On Sunday the Government halted the eviction of over 100 families who have settled on Luswishi farm block in Lufwanyama district on the Copperbelt province until investigations are concluded on how commercial farmers were given the pieces of land.
Caritas Zambia executive director Eugene Kabilika has observed that land issues have continued to give Zambians discomfort despite the country having two tenure systems being lease of tenure and customary land tenure system
Mr Kabilika has wondered why Zambians are sometimes at the mercy of others in terms of land acquisition.
