Let’s have decency in corruption fight, says Chama

By ADRIAN MWANZA

THE move by the investigative wings to search former Patriotic Front (PF) chairperson Samuel Mukupa is an indication that this government does not have any decency, PF acting chairperson Davis Chama has said.

Mr Chama said that it was unfortunate that they did not wait for the country to even bury former President Rupiah Banda and went on rampage to ransack Mr Mukupa’s farm in Mporokoso.

He said that the move was just an indication that the government was vindictive and that they had no moral appeal.

Mr Chama said that there was no way that people failed to wait for the country to give a befitting send off to the former head of State who did a lot for the country.

He said instead of concentrating on fixing things they were busy trying to sort out their political opponents.

“If you look at the situation at the Black Mountain in Kitwe, there is confusion and instead of trying to find a solution they are going on rampage trying to fix PF officials,” Mr Chama said.

He said the country was spiraling out of control and urged the UPND to concentrate on governing and ensuring stability in the country.

Mr Chama said he was frightened and did not know which direction the country was going because the level of hatred was unbelievable.  He said the ruling party was failing to govern because they were being overshadowed by their own bitterness which was very unfortunate.
