By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSA
A witness has told the Lusaka High Court that murder accused Nigel Mwaba, sent threatening messages to late Tasila Tembo saying, she did not deserve to live for allegedly moving on with another man.

Ms Mulubwa Sokontwe testified that Mwaba also threatened to post nude photos of her cousin, Dr Tembo, who was also former Ministry of Health Deputy spokesperson. This is a matter in which Zambia Army soldier, Lieutenant Mwaba, aged 33, is charged with one count of murder.
It is alleged that between October 25 and 26, 2020, Lieutenant Mwaba murdered Dr Tembo, after a dispute. He however pleaded not guilty to the criminal offence.
When the matter came up yesterday for continued trial before Judge Wilfred Muma, Sokontwe said that her cousin, Dr Tembo visited her and showed her WhatsApp messages sent by Mwaba.
“I will make sure you go, I know you have moved on with another man, you don’t deserve to live” “I will make sure I post your nude photos so that people can see what kind of a woman you are,” read the said messages sent to Dr Tembo before her death.
She stated that the victim assured her that she was fine, gave her a goodbye kiss before leaving for her home in Meanwood, Lusaka.
Sokontwe stated that she never saw Dr Tembo again until she was buried at Memorial Park in October, 2020.
Asked in cross examination, if Dr Tembo and Mwaba looked to be like a happy pair whenever they visited her, Sokontwe replied in the affirmative.
She however clarified that her cousin was not the type that could take nude photos.
The matter was adjourned to March 15, 2022, for continued trial.
