ACC reopening cases cleared by courts to fix me – Chitotela

By ADRIAN MWANZA

Quizzing me about things that the courts of law cleared me of is an indication that the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) just wants to fix me and other colleagues that served in the previous regime, Mpambashe  member of Parliament, Ronald Chitotela has charged.

Mr Chitotela accused the commission and other investigative wings of  being used to fight political battles on behalf of the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).

Mr Chitotela said that it had become clear that the investigative wings were just after members of the former ruling party.

He said that the recent actions by the ACC to recall him was very unfortunate because he was summoned over an issue that was disposed of by the courts of law.

“Can you imagine that they were quizzing me about things that the courts of law cleared me of, an indication that they just want to fix me and other colleagues that served in the previous regime,” he said.

Mr Chitotela said that this was wrong and that the ACC needed to be prudent and  impartial in its dealings.

He said that records showed that all those that were being investigated belonged to the PF and no other political party.

Mr Chitotela said that it was painting a very bad narrative as people only thought the PF was the only corrupt party when in fact that was not even the case.
