UPPZ predicts tough times for Zambians

By SILUMESI MALUMO

ZAMBIANS should expect more tough times because they are being ruled by people who are clueless of governance, United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ), president, Charles Chanda, has said.

Mr Chanda said it is evident that the new dawn administration has failed to run the country.

In an interview, Mr Chanda indicated that the new dawn administration’s policies do not benefit ordinary Zambians.

He said a visionary government cannot impose suffering on Zambians.

Minister of Energy Peter Kapala recently said the government will remove all subsidies on fuel in June this year.

He was referring to the suspension of customs and excise duty on the importation of petroleum products.

But Mr Chanda said once government completely does away with the waiver, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) will start importing at high price which will definitely affect fuel prices in the country.

He said the waiver was helping OMCs to import fuel at a cheaper price.
