DEC lying over Esther Lungu – Makebi

By NATION REPORTER

THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) is lying over its claim to follow First Lady at her residence when the call out is clear that she has to report at their offices, lawyer Makebi Zulu has said.

Mr Zulu in an interview said the DEC was playing to the gallery by portraying an impression that they accorded the former first lady respect when they had made it clear that she had to report at their offices.

He said that what the DEC Director-General, Ms Mary Chirwa told the press was contrary to what was on the ground as they had given specific instructions that Ms Lungu needed to report at their offices.

“What I can say is that DEC is playing to the gallery because what the director-general said is not what she told us and they are just trying to hoodwink the public and create an impression that they respect the former first lady,” he said.

Mr Zulu said the callout was clear and that the former first lady was supposed to report herself on July 26.

He said DEC needed to stop sensationalising matters and started being open and not where the director-general was pretending when she was doing something else in the background.
