ECL’S SON SUMMONED

… Dalitso Lungu expected to appear for interrogation tomorrow

By NATION REPORTER

FORMER Republican president Edgar Lungu’s son, Dalitso, has been summoned to appear before the Joint Investigative Team (JIT) tomorrow.

JIT Spokesperson Rae Haamonga confirmed that Mr Lungu was summoned and would appear to answer certain questions that the team wanted to clarify.

Mr Haamonga however said he could not give full details because the matter was still under investigations and giving out information would jeopardise the matter.

“Yes I can confirm that we have summoned the former head of state’s son for questioning but I can’t tell you the reasons because the matter is still under investigations,” he said.

He said that the nation would be informed of the outcome once all the investigations were concluded as it was still premature.

Mr Lungu’s son joins a long list of individuals close to the sixth president who have been searched and interrogated by the investigative wings.

It is believed Mr Lungu has been summoned in connection with the 31 vehicles recovered by Police in Makeni   believed to belong to him.

According to unconfirmed social media reports,   Mr Lungu registered the vehicles under Sarodi Traders a company run by a Mr Simangolwa Simangolwa in Western Province.

The ACC have allegedly also impounded seven trucks believed to belong to the former head of state’s son.
