We are not ditching PF, say Kambwili, Mwamba

By NATION REPORTER

THERE is no splinter group or alliance that has been formed among senior members to ditch the Patriotic Front, PF presidential aspirants Chishimba Kambwili and Emmanuel Mwamba have indicated.

The two indicated that they were not planning on ditching  the PF as indicated by some members but to the contrary, they were just trying to unite the party by consulting widely on the way forward.

The two in the company of another aspirant Brian Mundubile, were in Kasama where it is alleged by some members that they went to make consultations with Paramount Chief Chitimukulu to form their own political party.

Mr Mwamba said the trio were not making such moves and that people should not be uneasy because there were no such plans of them forming a political party.

He said that the trip to Northern Province was aimed at improving the fortunes of the party as this was the best time to unite it.

“I want to assure the nation that there is nothing of the sort. We do not have any intentions of ditching the party whatsoever,” Mr Mwamba said.

Meanwhile, Mr Kambwili said the rumours that the three were planning to ditch the party were neither here nor there.

He said that was a joke because what PF needed was unity of purpose so that they could reclaim the lost glory.

Mr Kambwili said whatever efforts were being made were steps in the right direction and that the trip was not just based on the three individuals but even the likes of Mutotwe Kafwaya and even GBM.
