Peace and stability is key to economic growth – HH

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says peace and stability is the prerequisite for economic development and that Africa and the world must uphold this.

He made the remarks during a State banquet in Eswatini where he was invited by King Mswati III.

President Hichilema  stated that peace and stability is the prerequisite for economic development and that Africa and the world at large must uphold this.

He said it is high time Africans begun taking responsibility for various challenges that area being faced with and that before seeking solutions elsewhere, must first look within.

The President also said Africa is a trouble maker and that Africans like fighting amongst themselves and that this must be changed because trouble anywhere is trouble everywhere as being witnessed in some parts of the world.

He said Zambia is known to be peaceful, therefore whilst in office, he will work hard to ensure that other than peace, Zambia becomes to be known as a developed country. “Fellow citizens, during our address and riding on the remarks by His Majesty King Mswati III that several of our brothers and sisters have made families in this Kingdom, we appeal  to those residing herein and elsewhere  in diaspora to continue striving to be the best citizens as they are our country’s representatives,” said President Hichilema.
