I’ll not quit until we regain power – Chama

By NATION REPORTER

I CHANGED  my decision to quit active politics due to the way the current government is infringing on human rights in its day to day affairs, Patriotic Front (PF) National Chairperson Davies Chama, has said.

Mr Chama said he was contemplating on handing the baton to the youngsters who could steer the party to greater heights but that he had decided to rescind his decision because the UPND were portraying dictatorial tendencies.

He said that it was for this reason that he had decided not to retire because he wanted to ensure that the UPND were ousted from power.

“I was willing to retire if the new government was going to be magnanimous but the way things are moving, I can’t because there is too much injustice,” he said.

Mr Chama said the political persecution was too much and if nothing was done most people would be unfairly incarcerated.

He however said that the persecution of most PF senior members had given the party resolve to soldier on and ensure that they came out victorious.

“For me, I will not rest until we ensure that the UPND is ousted out of power once and for all because they have continued infringing on human rights,” Mr Chama said.
