THE Judith Kabemba led Democratic Party (DP) has called on former leader Harry  Kalaba to return all the property that was donated to the party by clergy man Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

The revelation came hours after Mr Kalaba announced that he had ditched the party and would be forming his own party soon.

However the announcement did not settle well with the members who claimed that Mr Kalaba was in custody of money, cars and houses which were donated to the party allegedly by Mr Bushiri and that he needed to bring them back.

And Ms Kabemba said she could not quantify the figure but that Mr Kalaba was holding on to party property which he needed to bring back.

Mr Kalaba however ditched the party and hinted on forming his own political following heated battles with the Judith Kabemba faction.

Mr Kalaba who stepped down as party president also resigned from the party.

Mr Kalala said his decision had been necessitated by the delay in the disposal of the ongoing case in the courts of law.

He said while he was optimistic about the future of the Judiciary, he was concerned by the manner in which their case was being handled and for this reason he had decided to step out and start the task of preparing to participate in the 2026 General Election.

Shortly after the August 2021 general elections DP started facing serious leadership wrangles when the party vice president Judith Kabemba started claiming that Mr Kalama was not the legitimate party president because he was just invited as a guest to contest on the DP ticket in that election which saw the party break into two factions.

Mr Kalaba said at a press briefing that they were now proceeding to lodge an application for the formation of another political party.

“Allow me to serve notice to our detractors. There’s no stopping us now! This train is moving in full motion,” he said

He has also called on those who believe in the cause of Zambia that represents the needs of Zambians and to those who believe that they were lied to last year and need to put an end to the lies in 2026 to join him to build a movement.

Mr Kalaba said to build a movement that would take back power from self-serving imperialists.

Ms Kabemba said the resignations of Mr Kalaba from the party had vindicated them.

Ms. Kabemba said Mr Kalaba had been nothing but a masquerader because the DP constitution does have the president position.

“It doesn’t exist in the party hierarchy, his resignation is nothing but hypocrisy,” she said.

She said Mr Kalaba had realised that everything he had submitted to the courts was nothing but lies and he wanted to pull a fast one by resigning.

Ms. Kabemba also warned precious Tambo to stop masquerading as national secretary of the party.

She said they were aware of forgery that happened at the registrar of societies documents were forged and they had now been subjected to forensic expert audit and they had proved that the documents were fake.
