One year of UPND leadership has disappointed  Zambians, says PF

THE people of Kwacha constituency have no reason to vote for the UPND and its candidate in the September 15 parliamentary by-election because both the ruling party and its candidate Charles Abel Mulenga are hopeless and have no capacity to match that of the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Joe Malanji ,” the PF has said

PF Kwacha constituency Chairman Alex Chembo said the electorate in Kwacha constituency will not be convinced to vote for Mr Mulenga on grounds that he was from the ruling party because the ruling party itself has exhibited mediocre leadership in the one year it has been in government.

In an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Chembo said the ruling party itself has exhibited poor leadership which include selfishness, greediness, irresponsible and careless attitude towards the poor people like demolishing people’s houses in Chingola’s Kasompe area and sidelining youths from the black mountain after promising them better lives and empowerment.

Mr Chembo said, apart from poor leadership of the ruling party, its candidate was not popular on the ground and cannot match the works of Mr Malanji whose works were there for every one to see.

“Whilst the PF and its candidate Joe Malanji have  the heart to help the poor in various communities of the   constituency, the UPND and its candidate Abel Mulenga are doing whatever they are doing to win the September 15 by-elections. They are making all sorts of donations and empowerment programmes.

” If they win, then they will dump the people of Kwacha, but Mr Malanji has been there for the people of Kwacha before he became MP and after he became an MP, he has continued to show his prowess in terms of caring after the people of Kwacha. Mr Malanji is a true friend of the people of Kwacha and they know it,” Mr Chembo said.

And Mr Chembo has said it is ridiculous and a clear indication of incompetence for a political party like UPND which promised Zambians a better life to abandon its campaign promises and start persecuting whoever was criticising its mediocre leadership.

Mr Chembo said it was shameful that the UPND which promised Zambians ‘Heaven on Earth’ during the 2021 elections had abandoned its campaign promises and was slowly turning Zambia into ‘Hell’ through political persecution and worsening hunger and poverty levels.

He said Zambia was slowly being turned into ‘Hell’ by the New Dawn Administration through political persecution which included arrests and seizure of property of perceived political enemies, while poverty and hunger was worsening in various communities

“It is sad and disappointing that, after failing to fulfil its campaign promises, the New Dawn government wanted to govern the country through Black Mail to silence its critics, intimidation, threats and other forms of dictatorial tendencies.

“It is almost a year now since the UPND or the New Dawn formed government, there is nothing which it has done to bring hope to the majority poverty stricken Zambians. Things are getting from bad to worsen. Prices of essential commodities are sky-rocketing every day,” he said.
