GOVERNMENT admits the challenges in the agriculture sector but is doing everything possible to address the situation to guarantee food security in the country, President Hakainde Hichilema has said.
Mr Hichilema said there were some challenges in the agriculture sector but that the problems would be resolved as the government was doing everything possible to address the situation to guarantee food security.
He said this when he paid a courtesy call on Senior Chief Sikufele in Manyinga.
“We reiterated our call to the traditional leaders to partner with government in fostering development especially with our decentralisation policy of taking resources to the local communities under the Constituency Development Fund,” he said.
President Hichilema said he was humbled with the encouraging words from Senior Chief Sikufele on some of the deliverables such as free education, recruitment of teachers, health workers as well as in the defence and security wings among others.
