Zambians not happy with HH, says Musenge

ZAMBIANS are agitated and disappointed that whilst, poverty and hunger is worsening in
communities, some UPND cadres and government officials are buying expensive vehicles from
the Show room barely a year and half of being voted into government,’’ Advocate for People’s
Prosperity (APP) interim president Mwenya Musenge has said.
Mr Musenge said Zambians, who are being mocked with the Fimba Upoke slogan were
disappointed that the UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema who had promised them a
better life did not care about the hardships Zambians were going through.
Mr Musenge said in an interview that Zambians had been used and dumped by the UPND as
most of its party and government officials were busy amassing wealth for themselves with some
of them buying their wives expensive vehicles midst poverty and hunger in communities
He said he had been forced to voice out his concern over the way the UPND was running the
country after disgruntled UPND cadres informed him that , apart from Thabo Kawana , there
some other UPND cadres who have suddenly amassed a lot of wealth within a short time.
“President Hichilema campaigned on platform of alleviating poverty and hunger in the country,
reducing on government expenditure, reduction on the price of mealie meal and generally,

improving people’s lives… but sadly, under the UPND, things are getting from bad to worse with
the government not showing concern for the suffering majority,’’ Mr Musenge said.
Mr Musenge said Zambians were wondering what message President Hichilema was sending to
the majority poverty stricken Zambians who voted for him, but were now watching helplessly as
UPND cadres amass.
He said it was sad and disappointing that President Hichilema who was so critical of former
republican President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and the Patriotic Front (PF) over what he termed
abuse of public resources and corruption, was equally mute on a number of issues where he
was expected to come out strongly.
Last year in December, Mr Musenge said he decided to form a political party called Advocates
for People’s Prosperity (APP) to speak on behalf of the silent majority because the UPND is not
taking Zambia anywhere and majority of Zambians are now living in squalor
Mr Musenge said, in the more than one year of the UPND in government, the ruling party had
not only shown that it had no plan for national development, but it had also proved that it had no
regard for Zambians, but merely used their votes to get into government and serve their
personal and business interests.
