Church, govt should facilitate dialogue – Dr Chilufya
FORMER Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya has observed that the ordination of Chipata Diocese Auxiliary Bishop Gabriel Phiri has come at a critical time when there is need to facilitate dialogue between the church and government.
Dr Chilufya says the Church and government must facilitate dialogue and advocacy for a morally sound society with enhanced livelihoods.
Bishop Phiri was yesterday consecrated to the sacred office of Auxiliary Bishop of Chipata Diocese during a mass that was also attended by President Hakainde Hichilema, other opposition leaders including Dr Chilufya.
Speaking in the aftermath of the consecration mass, Dr Chilufya said Bishop Phiri’s ordination comes at a pivotal time when the interplay between the Church and Government must be redefined.
