IMF deal hangs in balance – as Economic Association of Zambia, Centre for Trade Policy Development says anti-Chinese sentiments by USA hurting Zambia’s debt restructuring

There has been uncertainty over Zambia’s debt restructuring as both the US and China have had an exchange of words regarding the debt situation.

Zambia’s ambitious debt restructuring programme could be at the risk of collapsing because of the anti-Chinese sentiments by the United States of America, the Economic Association of Zambia and the Centre for Trade Policy Development (CTPD) have warned.

The EAZ and CTPD have advised that Zambia should cautiously exercise economic diplomacy when dealing with its Public debt management with China because the anti-Chinese sentiments from the United States of America are hurting the country’s debt restructuring.
