Stop divisive statements, Lawrence Mwewa tells PF members

By NATION REPORTER

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) member, Lawrence Mwelwa has advised members to desist from issuing divisive statements on social media that have potential to weaken the former ruling party.

Dr Mwewa said in a statement yesterday that every member has equal rights within the party’s constitution and that there is no hijacker within the party.

He admitted that members have the right to express their opinions, but that this should be done in a constructive and respectful manner. “Divisive statements only serve to weaken the party and make it harder to achieve shared goals,” Dr Mwelwa said.

He urged members to work together and to remain united, emphasising that a united front can win elections and bring about the desired change.

Dr Mwewa said the PF aimed at making a difference in the lives of Zambians and this could be achieved if members put their differences aside and work towards shared goals.

“As the nation celebrates Kenneth Kaunda Day, I call on all fellow members to renew our commitment to building a united and successful party,” Dr Mwewa said.
