PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has reiterated his commitment to reuniting Zambia and take equitable development to all citizens across the country without any form of segregation or discrimination.

President Hichilema says his new dawn administration strongly believed in equity, equality and inclusiveness and shall endeavour to develop all the Provinces through various process including the Constituency Development Fund.

The head of State who was on a tour of the Copperbelt, Central and Northern provinces to thank Zambians for voting for the UPND in the 2021 general elections and for choosing the governing party in the last local government by-elections said it was his job and commitment to ensure that Zambia was reunited.

President Hichilema has expressed gratitude to Zambians for overwhelmingly voting for the UPND in the 2021 general elections and pledged that he was not going to let the electorate down by taking development to every corner of the country.

President Hichilema said during his visit to the three provinces, he met local business leaders with whom he interacted on how best they could be empowered by removing local rigidities which were slowing down their businesses.

The President stated that the local business leaders informed him about the concerns about how government institutions such as Zambia Environment Management Agency (ZEMA) and Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) were expected to support artisan mining.

“As the new dawn government, we believe in equity, equality, and inclusiveness and will therefore be committed to developing all ten provinces of Zambia equally through various processes including the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).”

“Our job is to reunite our people and bring equitable development to all our fellow citizens.

During our visit we met local business leaders with whom we exchanged ideas on how we can help empower them by removing local rigidities that slow down their businesses. Top on their concerns was how government institutions such as ZEMA and WARMA are expected to support artisanal mining,” President Hichilema said.

President Hichilema stated that he also had the privilege of meeting with several traditional leaders from various chiefdoms of the Central Province where matters of mutual interest affecting communities such as social and infrastructure development were discussed.

He said he also discussed with the traditional leaders matters concerning health, education and farming, stating that chiefs were not in competition with government but partners as both served the same citizenry.

The President said he was exceedingly grateful for the hospitality he received in Serenje in Central Province as much as he was in Chililabombwe on the Copperbelt and Lupososhi in the Northern Procince.
