GIVING the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway to Micro Ocean Consortium is nothing but modern colonialism, the Leadership Movement has charged.

Leadership Movement secretary general Jairos Ngoma said surrendering the road for 25 years to a group of individuals who shall undertake the construction of the road was a wrong move on the side of Government.
He explained that the country has enough minerals and resources that could have been channelled to the project.
Mr Ngoma recalled that while in opposition, the new dawn administration used to say that people could not eat roads but the UPND in government had changed completely on most of its promises.
He noted that the country should take advantage of its own resources and expertise to develop the economy.
“We can come up with a nuclear power plant as a country because we have uranium in Solwezi. By now we are supposed to be in control of minerals and pilling them up in reserves. We have gold in Mpika, Mumbwa and other places across the country.
And Mr Ngoma said politicians should leave the church out of political matters and that it was being unchristian to attack and abuse priests.
He said politicians were elected to execute national duty for the wellbeing of all citizens.
“Leave the church out of because this it is not going to help us. Maybe they saw that there is little tithe coming hence suggesting that the graph is not helping the economy.”
Meanwhile, the party’s information and publicity secretary, Mr Jason Mwanza commended the minister of Green Economy for halting mining in the Lower Zambezi National Park.
Mr Mwanza however demanded that the licence of the mining firm be revoked. He said it should also be extended to Forest 27.
