ZTTA unveils provisional squad for Zone 5 Games

THE Zambia Table Tennis Association (ZTTA) Technical Committee has unveiled a 23-member provision team to participate at the region 5 table tennis tournament to be held in Botswana.
Gaborone will from June 30th, 2023 to July 2nd host the crucial regional games which will feature the best Ping-Pong players from across the region.
The Technical Committee has named Young Charles Banda in the squad consisting of experienced Mubanga Kunda and Latifa Nalavwe who features for NASDEC Table Tennis Clubs.
According to ZTTA the squad consisting of nine female players and 14 male players will go into non-residential camp on June 17th and 18th 2023, and June 24th and June 25th at NASDEC in Lusaka.
ZTTA confirmed in a statement that the final team will be announced on June 26th.
The Top 8 in each event, at the region 5 games with a maximum of five players from the same for individual associations will qualify to represent the region in the continental championships.
Meanwhile, the two finalist teams in the Men’s team and Women’s team events will qualify to represent the region in the continental team’s event qualification for the World Table Tennis Championships slated for 2024 in South Korea (Busan).
