Blunt Bullets will bounce back – Nyirenda

By MICHAEL MIYOBA

KITWE Bullets coach Witson Nyirenda says his team will bounce back after struggling with two defeats and two draws in the first four matches of the FAZ Premier Futsal League (FAZ/PFL).

Bullets who are last season’s finalists have continued to struggle and suffered their second defeat, losing 3-2 to CSS Petauke over the weekend.

After four games played, Bullets are winless and are second from bottom on the log with two points collected from two stalemates against Mthunzi and Mudi Stars.

Nyirenda said he has a new squad and most of the players who were promoted to the senior team are still adjusting to the level of competition in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Automotive were fortunate to maintain their 100 percent winning run after edging Green Buffaloes 6-5 in a closely contested week-4 fixture

Buffaloes put up a spirited fight against the defending champions who have continued to enjoy a perfect start to the new futsal league season.

The Andrea Cristoforetti-drilled Auto maintain top spot on the league table with 12 points collected from victories over Kitwe Bullets, CSS Petauke, Mthunzi FC and Buffaloes.

Auto are two points ahead of second-placed Mudi Stars who defeated Siavonga Beetles 8-3 to move to 10 points.

Petauke’s latest win over Bullets propelled them to third on the log with nine points collected from three wins and one defeat in the first four matches.

In the other matches played over the weekend, fifth-placed Lusaka Avengers recorded their first defeat following a 10-5 thumping by Kafue Saints who claimed fourth position on the log.

Mthunzi FC claimed their first win of the season after outclassing BS Stars 10-3 while Monze George enjoyed their first win by beating struggling Metro Lilanda who have so far lost all the first games played since they won promotion from the National Division one futsal league.
