Kalaba advises Gov’t to bring home diplomatic staff from Israel

By NATION REPORTER
CITIZEN First president Harry Kalaba has advised the government to recall its diplomatic staff at the Zambian Embassy in Israel in view of the escalating war in the Gaza strip like other countries have done.
The International Community and the United Nations with an exception of America and the UK have described the War in Gaza as Genocide with a number of countries including South Africa have withdrawn their diplomats from Israel. Over 10 000 people have been killed in the Gaza strip with Israel now having intensified its ground offensive against the Militant group Hamas in Gaza.
But Mr Kalaba says with Israel giving indication of escalating the war further, it was prudent that Zambia follows suit in what countries like South Africa have done in withdrawing its diplomats.
Mr Kalaba says the government must not be reactive but instead proactive and ensure other Zambians that have remained behind are brought back as the situation is set to become even worse. Meanwhile Minister of Foreign Affairs Stanley Kakubo could not be reached on the matter by Press time.
