JOBS SCAMMERS INCREASE – Ministry of Health intensifies investigations in scams

By Nation Reporter

WE have intensified investigations into suspected  scammers in the ministry getting huge amounts of money from individuals being promised employment, Ministry of Health Spokesperson, Abel Kabalu, has said.

Dr Kabalu in an interview said that the number of people being scammed had increased after government indicated that it would employ health practitioners.

He said that the ministry had however,  gone flat-out to probe the matter as they did not want people to be duped.

“I can confirm that we have continued receiving more reports but at the moment what I can just tell you is that we are on the ground and we are going to fish out all the culprits,” he said.

Last month Health Minister Sylvia Masebo indicated that she had received a complaint that some people were paying as much as K5000 just for the possibility of being employed.

But Dr Kabalu said the people duped needed to come forward and name the culprits so that a paper trail could be initiated and all those involved   traced.
