…US$300,000 not meant for new stadium says Kamanga

THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) says the US300,000 for the FIFA funded Independence Stadium in Solwezi was not meant for a new stadium.
FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga said that the bulk of the US$300,000 for the rehabilitation project in Solwezi was allocated to the installation of the natural pitch.
Reacting to the criticism the association has received because of the poor works done at the stadium in Solwezi, Kamanga noted that while works on the pitch (turf) have been completed, the civil works await final touches.
“We also wish to inform members of the public that the bulk of the US$300,000 for this project was allocated to the installation of the natural pitch. The amounts allocated for the FIFA project was purely for rehabilitation and not for erecting a new stadium. We thought we should clarify on that aspect so that the publics` expectation can be managed,” Kamanga said.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
