Masebo calls for increased support to mitigate effects of drought on health

HEALTH Minister Sylvia Masebo has appealed to the United Nations (UN) for more support towards mitigating the effects of drought on the health sector.

Speaking when UN Assistant Secretary General, Climate Crisis Coordinator for El Niño/La Niña Response Reena Ghelani, and UNICEF Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa Etleva Kadilli called on her at her office in Lusaka, Ms Masebo said Zambia is anticipating serious negative impacts on health as a result of the current drought which has hit six regions in the country.
