Chris Aka introduces CAMA festival

Veteran musician and child rights activists Christopher Linenga popularly known as Chris Aka will this year launch a project meant to promote music and arts in local communities.
The project dubbed Chris Aka Media and Arts Festival (CAMA) is planned to uplift cultural and arts standards in selected local communities. According to a statement from Aka who is the founder of the project, the initiative will be in an effort to promote community participation in media arts and culture.
“We are launching this project to emphasize on the need to promote local arts and culture in communities which are not always in the limelight. This is purely a community project and will be used to identify talent, nurture it and promote it on a national level,” states Aka.
Additionally, the musician who is also highly involved in community projects in Katuba Constituency says the CAMA will launch in August with an annual music festival. The CAMA festival will be a competitive avenue to upcoming and untapped talent in music and various cultural aspects.
“The CAMA Music Festival is the first-ever, unique and whole inclusive. It will make use of the promotion and support of authentic music from various communities. It will have a national character and people should look out for more details,” Aka stated.

MuSoul Meyers serenades Rhapsody’s

Soulful songstress MuSoul Meyers and her band last Friday night took Rhapsody’s on a special musical evening with soothing sounds during a cabaret performance.
Coming from a background of live performances during the time of late singer Lilly T, MuSoul was good at her game and gave the audience mainly people who were out on a relaxed evening a refreshing moment.
The singer who is working on her very first-ever forthcoming debut album called ‘Strangers in Love’ took some time to perform covers for some top-rating international artistes including Adele and Alicia Keys. This was all to the delight of the audience that showed nothing but support to the songstress who owes her success in music to late Tony Matyola and Zambian music queen mother Maureen Lilanda. This is also not to forget Lilly T whose music she also performed at the event.
The evening even got more exciting for some unidentified couple that was celebrating its engagement on the same night. In special dedication to the couple, MuSoul performed some befitting classic song, ‘Holiday’ done by Madonna.
The whole evening at Rhapsody’s was filled with love when the couple was called to the stage to dance and show their affection. MuSoul and band later took the night into more ecstatic moments especially when she performed her own music including the hit single, ‘Strangers in Love’.
