UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has been failing to win elections because he is always insulting people with vast leadership qualities like former republican president Rupiah Banda says, MMD’s Prince Ndoyi.
Mr Ndoyi said that that the UPND and Mr Hichilema were still learning politics.
That was more the reason the opposition leader had chosen to surround himself with a ‘bunch of proven losers’ and ‘betrayers’ such as Guy Scott, GBM, Miles Sampa and Obvious Mwaliteta.
He said that Mr Hichilema had gathered valueless politicians and celebrated their endorsements without having critically analysed what experience they could add to his political fortunes.
Commenting on Mr Hichilema’s utterances against Mr Banda yesterday, Mr Ndoyi said that youths in the MMD were shocked and disappointed that a person who aspired for the highest office had continued to orchestrate insults against the man who had occupied the same office.
He said that Mr Hichilema was bitter after having lost the elections but that he should not blame Mr Banda, adding it was not the former president who blocked his path to State House but the Zambian people who opted to vote for President Edgar Lungu.
“HH appears not to know who to attack and who not to attack, it no wonder he loses elections. It’s quite surprising that even after losing twice against President Lungu who was heavily endorsed by the same person he despises, he does not realise the many people he injures when he attacks Mr Rupiah Banda and his family,
“It beats logic that HH expects to win elections when he continues to insult the same people that possess and carry a winning image and brand. Mr Rupiah Banda is totally no match for HH and it’s the more reason he must concentrate on his peers,” Mr Ndoyi said.
Mr Ndoyi advised Mr Hichilema to focus on rebuilding the nation unlike issuing derogatory statements against the former Head of State, adding that the insults were hurting the country’s international relations.
He said that the MMD under the leadership of Mr Felix Mutati and Mr Banda had proved to the most priceless endorsements and that any politician worth his salt was supposed to fight for the same.
Mr Ndoyi said that Zambia had continued to enjoy warm bilateral relations and wondered what UPND stood to benefit if Zambia developed a hostile relationship with the Democratic Republic of Congo or Morocco.
