Change, Fashion Sakala told

Editor,

Fashion Sakala needs to change his attitude towards referees, because the way he behaved in the Algeria game was not good. No wonder he got a red card and almost cost us the game.

Alimon Maxwel Banda.

Ill-qualified nurses

Editor,

Government STOP employing nurses whose Grade 12 results look like a Police-Toll-Free-Line (999) and have been to these inferior schools of nursing. I know nurses who do not even know how to do a ‘Heimlich manoeuvre’ or ‘figure 8 bandage’. Where is “Florence Nightingale” when we need her?

 Clive Nyambe.

Overworked nurses, deliver poor services

Editor,

What’s causing that poor attitude of nurses in our hospitals and clinics if I may ask? Nurses also are human beings. How can one nurse attend to 100 patients in a day? Are you being fair? When did these guys have an increment? You are busy plundering the resources and you want to divert people’s attention to a poor nurse. Those resources you are plundering can buy medicines etc for hospitals and even be able to employ more manpower.

 Etambuyu Tsoanyani.

Parents not to blame

Editor,

Surely, parents can’t be blamed over the stupidity of those children involved in the Woodlands sex orgy. Do you want parents to be putting GPS’s on their children’s bodies so that they can know their whereabouts? Ati Government is not working!!!!!! So you should reason before you comment.

 Peter Shaatany Munthali.

Why now Mr Kambwili?

Editor,

While it may be true what Mr Kambwili is saying concerning corruption in government, he has revealed it at a wrong time. Why didn’t he reveal all this rubbish when he still was part of the wagon or resign as late Mwanawasa did? It’s foolish for his calibre to start talking of what was happening in government now that he is put. Mr Kambwili never talked of corruption when he was in government apart from talking of the PF being hijacked by MMD. People had confidence in Mr Kambwili but now it’s something else. Humble yourself sir.

Concerned citizen.

Lungu’s speech inspiring

Editor,

I wish to comment on the speech by President Edgar Lungu in Parliament as it gives hope to the poor. It is inspiring because it portrays his eager to alleviate poverty and uplift the living standards of all people.

Can ZESCO explain power outages?

Editor,

Power outages, especially in Matero where I live have become a common feature of late. The annoying thing is that the power utility company does not apologise and explain what is causing this. Can we guess that load shedding is back again? Can Mr Henry Kapata please explain this annoying development?

Moses Chirwa, Matero, Lusaka.

Why support foreign firms?

Editor,

Allow me to comment on Dora Siliya about her admiring cooperatives in Czech Republic. We have had cooperatives in Zambia which we copied from socialist countries. Farmers in Zambia need government support for what they have a passion for. We have farmers who have passion for livestock, irrigation system, fishing and many more other farming interests. Support them with extension services, finance, modern technology and marketing. You will see how Zambia will move forward.

Voting pattern worrying

Editor,

The just ended by-elections in the country produced the results which we all knew. As unusual the UPND scooped all the seats (3) in its strongholds like the PF did (8) except that they got the lion’s share. I think that the same results can be expected in 2021 if this regional voting pattern does not end.
