…then join Musenge in NDC

By PRINCE CHIBAWAH

CHISHIMBA Kambwili is on a mission to fix President Edgar Lungu and in the process bring down the Patriotic Front before  joining the  National Democratic Congress (NDC), says Mwenya Musenge.

“Kambwili will join us at a later stage. He has told me that he first wants to ‘fix’ PF and President Lungu. When we were chased from the PF, we sat down and asked ourselves what we will do next.”

“We had two options: joining an already existing party or having something of our own. So at the end of the day we concluded that forming a political party was the best way to go,” said Mr Musenge, who introduced himself as NDC interim secretary-general.

He explained that Mr Kambwili did not think it was wise to leave Government and the PF without a fight.

“So he told me to proceed with the idea. He could not just leave Government and the PF just like that. He has to fight them. And that’s what he is doing and sooner or later he will be with us,” he said.

And the former Copperbelt Province Minister said Government was persecuting him and Mr Kambwili because the Patriotic Front feared them.

Speaking when he featured on a live radio programme dubbed “Speak Your Mind Thursday” on KFM in Mansa yesterday, Mr Musenge said Mr Kambwili would soon join him in the NDC because he had consented to the idea of forming the party.

Mr Musenge also said NDC would elect its president at the party national congress which would be held after it finishes the process of forming lower structures in all the 10 provinces of Zambia.

And Mr Musenge accused the Police and the local authorities on the Copperbelt of frustrating the operations of NDC.

He said this was being done to silence him and Mr Kambwili because the PF could not stand their “heat.”

Mr Musenge however said they would not give up politics even if it would cost them their entire fortune.

He explained that Government had targeted to destroy his businesses that were running in Mansa and Kitwe but this did not bother him.

“The police are denying us permits to hold public meetings. The Town Clerk in Kitwe is equally refusing us to use a public hall where we want to address our members,

“ They will not stop us from taking over Government in 2021 because we are the right people to run the country,” said Mr Musenge.

Mr Musenge also announced that he was in Luapula Province to coordinate party activities.
