ZAMBIA’S representatives in the Confederations African Football (CAF) Confederations Cup championship Green Buffaloes began their Botswana outing with a 2-2 draw with Gaborone’s City giants Township Rollers in an international club friendly match played on Sunday in Gaborone.

Defender Malani Gondwe and former Chipolopolo midfielder Felix Katongo scored a goal apiece for Zambia army-sponsored side.

Meanwhile, Botswana internationals Joel Mogorosi and Motsholetsi Sikele both scored for Botswana Premier League (BPL) giants Township Rollers.

The stalemate against Buffaloes maintained Rollers unbeaten record in all competitions this season with Botswana premiership outfit having recorded 10 victories and three draws in the last fourteen fixtures.

Nikola Kavazovic’s side has impressively accumulated 33 points from 13 matches. They are 11 points above second-placed Jwaneng Galaxy.

Former Napsa Stars midfielder, Youremember Banda, Eddie Sinyagwe from Lumwana Radiants, Sporting Lusaka’s Lazarous Muchinga and former Kabwe Warriors’ player Monga Chilimba all made their debut for Buffaloes.

The three-time Zambian champions are currently camping in Botswana as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2018 Super League season.

The Army side are also preparing for the CAF Confederations Cup championship where they are scheduled to face Egyptian side El Masry in the two legged preliminary fixture.

Botswana Premier League (BPL) giants Township Rollers are also getting ready for their domestic league as it reaches the second round.

Rollers are expected to face Sudanese side Al Merrikh in the 2018 CAF Champions League preliminary round next month.
