By CHARLES MUSONDA

PRESIDENT Lungu has been advised to ignore some power hungry politicians whose motives were to frustrate his focus on national development.

In an interview in Lusaka, Church of God Cathedral of Miracles Bishop Naison Nyonyo noted that it was disappointing that most politicians in Zambia were eyeing State House while they were bent on doing anything to distract President Lungu’s focus on national development.

Bishop Nyonyo advised President Lungu to continue ignoring greedy politicians who have formed political parties out of frustration and bitterness.

“Every leadership has its own time and when God allows someone to be in leadership he knows the time frame for that leader. Having so many political parties in Zambia or people forming political parties out of frustration, I would call it greed. The problem is that everyone wants to go to State House.

“The best they can do is to give President Lungu chance. Let him finish and when his term in State House finishes, another leader will come. Zambians should know that being a Christian Nation, God does not operate in confusion. We are praying that the peace we have in Zambia should continue,” Bishop Nyonyo said.

He said the church was happy with President Lungu’s order for cleanness, which he said was next to Godliness.

Bishop Nyonyo said the restoration of cleanness in Lusaka and other parts of Zambia had changed people’s mindsets on the need for purity all the time.

He said it was clear that Zambians had seen President Lungu’s works adding that he should not divert from making bold decisions that were in national interest.

“We are seeing what is happening and he must continue with his development agenda and let him know that Zambians are seeing what is happening. As a church we are saying let President Lungu focus on national development.

“He should understand that the church is praying for him. Those frustrated politicians must know that there is time for them and let the leader who is there lead. God can make a leader out of anyone. President Lungu was elected out of God’s desire and no man can go to State House without God’s desire. He should not be distracted by greedy politicians.” he said.
