LET’S PROCEED WITH ZAMBIA AIRWAYS

Dear Editor,

AS others have already said, nothing is for free. Ethiopian Airlines is not a charitable organisation.

There must be a business case. Secondly we don’t have capital and technical capabilities to restart QZ.

Ethiopian Airlines does and that costs money. Thirdly, few businesses generate profits in the first three  years.

Let’s learn to be patient. Fourthly, airline business in Zambia is worth $1.5b per annum.

Why do we want to let foreign airlines get all this just because we have cholera?

That’s retrospective thinking. Fifthly, an airline is like any infrastructure – you’re building roads in the air into your country.

Profits to economy may also be indirect. One of the reasons SAA isn’t liquidated is that it participates in bringing 10 million visitors to RSA per year with dollars to spend!

Sixthly JV Agreement can be terminated any time if not working. Seventhly, let’s not be too negative and shallow in our thinking – there are many positives to having a well-run national airline.

Main goal is to efficiently bring in many people and goods. Other industries like tourism, transport, services, etc will benefit.

Our goal should be to exceed 10 million visitors to Zambia per year and not just sitting on our hands till all problems in the country are solved!

It’s better to do something than nothing just because we have cholera. God Bless Zambia.

The Chosen One

Kambwili, HH living in self-deception

Dear Editor,

THEY say self -deception is an act of lying to yourself or of making yourself believe something that isn’t really true.

I am just thinking of what could be going on in the minds of Chishimba Kambwili and Mwenya Musenge, the architects of floating NDC.

True, if it took Mr Michael Sata (MHSRIEP) 10 years of political clanking before entering State House, what gives the two political charlatans an idea that they can do it in 2021?

I am thus compelled to believe that the gods first make mad those they want to destroy.

Look at the conduct of Kambwili or Hakainde Hichilema. Hardly inspiring and totally lacks statesmanship. All their razor-sharp tongues know are invectives.

They think that by talking tough people will think that they are plucky enough to easily walk into State House and become presidents any time.

Even with the acquisition of a bogus PhD, Mr Kambwili has still remained a political moron he is.

Mr Kambwili now portrays himself as the most intelligent politician Zambians have missed for a long time and that is more the reason he has taken to gibberish.

I am not worried about empty tins making too much noise but should we allow them to land on our feet? Ati Dr Kambwili… my foot!

In my conclusion I wish to assure both UPND and NDC and in particular HH and Kambwili that they can forget 2021 because of the kind of tribal politics they are playing.

The two men are prone to fantasy personality with overactive imagination. They are hostages of worldplay with no real future. Some call it chasing the wind.

Theirs is a task that is meaningless, void of purpose or benefit and leading to no particular political destination.

For now all they can do is to insult those in authority to please their egos.

Time will tell.

UPND, NDC too weak to unseat PF

Dear Editor

IT’S good that NDC has realised in good time that Hakainde Hichilema is hell bent only on abusing others to escort him to State House, if at all that is possible.

The fact is neither the NDC nor the now dead UPND has the capacity to unseat the PF in the next 10 years.

What NDC needs to focus on is to build their foundation so that they can share the spoils in the UPND strongholds.

Fact, President Lungu and PF will retain power in 2021 because everything is in place and people won’t vote on promises but on what PF will be pointing at, (Sontapo again)!

Politics of rhetoric are long gone and for one to win the elections, there should be compelling reasons beyond anyone’s doubt, that is the game.

PF has serious development projects lined up for completion before 2020, so on what basis will the people vote for the opposition?
