CHIPOLOPOLO international Patson Daka has described his first game at Leicester City as a special moment which he will always treasure in his football career.

Daka, who featured in the first 45 minutes as the Foxes lost 3-1 on penalties to Burton Albion at Pirelli Stadium said the game against Burton was crucial as it was used to identify where Leicester City will need to improve as preparations for the new season progresses.

The former Red Bull Salzburg striker said the game was important for players to see they can work together going forward.

“It was really a physical game. I think we tried to cope with the physicality. We did our very best that we could. Like I said, it’s the first game of pre-season.

“So, we still have a lot of time to work on the areas that we have to work on. I’m sure that in the next game we will do even much better,” Daka said.

After their first pre-season fixture, the Foxes will face Wycombe Wanderers on Wednesday before taking on Queens Park Rangers four days later.

Brendan Rodgers’s charges will then host UEFA Europa League holders Villarreal at King Power Stadium on August 4.

Daka said he was looking forward to playing every game at Leicester City because every game comes with different challenges.

“I look forward to every game that we play. I think it’s also important for each of the players to get that full fitness, match fitness, to get more minutes to play and I think it’s a great way forward for the team because we’re getting the minutes in and we’re trying to see that we need to work on these areas.”

“It has been great and like I said, (I’m) still trying to work together with my team-mates, to understand each other more and to get that connection between ourselves,” Daka said of pre-season to date.

Meanwhile, the Chipolopolo duo of Fashion Sakala Junior and Enock Mwepu made impressive debuts on Saturday evening for their sides, Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers FC and Brighton Hove and Albion who faced off in a goalless draw at Ibrox Stadium.

Mwepu started for Albion in midfield and showed his trademark composure on his first match in a ‘Seagulls’ shirt before he was substituted at halftime while Sakala came in as a second half substitute for Steven Gerard’s side to make a positive impact.

After starting from the bench against Brighton, Sakala will hope to start today’s friendly against Spanish giants Real Madrid.
