PATRIOTIC Front (PF) national mobilisation chairperson Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has advised the party not to do away with influential members in its rebranding.

Mr Mwamba said rebranding does not mean that old members who are critical to the party’s fortunes should be sidelined.

Mr Mwamba said he, Mr Chishimba Kambwili and others can play a critical role in ensuring that the party survives. “When PF was formed, it was nothing at that particular time but because we had grassroots members we made it grow. Some of us we are known to be grassroots people, so if they continue to engage us in party activities things will definitely be different.

“My aim this time around, is to interact with the people so that we can know what language we can use to convince people. The message we had during campaigns cannot be used this time around,” he said. Mr Mwamba said the party should trust those who left the party and came back because they still love the party.

Mr Mwamba said no one is happy to see the party where it is today, therefore, everyone must fight hard especially at the grassroots level in order for the party to see the light of the day. Sidelining influential politicians, he said, will be a disaster.

He said influential leaders have followers and when done away with, the party will also chase away followers. Meanwhile, Mr Mwamba said PF remains his home. He said, he does not have any intentions to join any political party. He said, “Which political party can I join this time around, there is none. PF is my home,” he said. Mr Mwamba said he can only leave PF when he decides to retire from active politics.
