OUR CHECKS AND BALANCES WILL BE MORE EFFECTIVE ONCE WE PUT OUR HOUSE IN ORDER

Dear Editor,

I HAVE dedicated this week to discussing pertinent issues that are critical to the rebranding, unity, oneness, information flow, confidence and strength of my party the Patriotic Front.

We are a big party with structures in each and every community of this great nation but currently the visibility, the voices and indeed the activities of the former ruling party are limited to very few individuals.

Where is the voice of the youth, where is the voice of the women, where is the voice of the provinces, where is the voice of the districts, where is the voice of the constituencies and the rest.

All these voices are silent because the house is not in order.   Parliamentarians are doing well, chairperson for Information and Publicity is also doing well but PF is too big to be limited to these few voices.

As everyone is fully aware we don’t have the voice of the President, we don’t have the voice of the Secretary General, we don’t have the voice of the national chairperson and the voice of the Vice President has of late also gone under so can we proudly say our house is in order?? The answer is a big no.

We have not even gone back to the 1.8 million wonderful people who supported us to say thank you.

At least I was happy to see Mr Stephen Kampyongo meeting his people, that is how it should be.

The structures equally should have been reorganising the members alas they are also uncertain of what to do. I am aware we have been dealing with the postmortem and the petitions.

Now is the time to tie the other loose ends for the sake of our stability and effective checks and balances.

Tomorrow I will give my thoughts on the PF presidency as we strategise for a rebound.
