THE Patriotic Front (PF) may find it difficult to dialogue with the UPND because the ruling party had continued to exhibit hypocrisy and lack of respect for the former President, Mr Edgar Lungu, the PF has said.

Apart from hypocrisy and insulting the former President, the UPND has gone on rampage victimising and harassing senior PF officials and calling them thieves and criminals before they could be convicted in a court of law

PF Copperbelt Media Director Munalula Moola said calls by MMD President Nevers Mumba that President Hakainde Hichilema and his predecessor, Mr Lungu must dialogue to unite the nation cannot be entertained by any right thinking PF member, especially with what the former ruling party has gone through in the last six months.

Mr Moola said, no right thinking PF member can entertain calls by Dr Mumba for dialogue between President Hichilema and his predecessor because, despite the disrespectful and brutal conduct of the new dawn administration, Dr Mumba had been silent instead of condemning such vices.

“Our senior party officials are being painted black through UPND propaganda, while others are being victimised and harassed, they are being called thieves and criminals before they could be convicted in a court of law, but Dr Mumba has never condemned this. Today, he should call for dialogue. What dialogue?

“Dr Mumba has been behaving like a UPND stooge or a job seeker. So, in short, as a loyal and staunch PF member, I can say PF may find it difficult to dialogue with the UPND because it had continued to exhibit hypocrisy and lack of respect for former republican President Edgar Lungu,’’ Mr Moola said.

Mr Moola said UPND has exhibited hypocrisy and deceit in the more than six months it has been in government, making it hard to be trusted by any political party including its alliance members.

He said the UPND has realised that it has no capacity to deliver on its campaign promises hence resorting to intimidation and threatening whoever was critical of their government.

Mr Moola said, from the time the UPND formed government, it has not done anything, apart from using the Drug Enforcement Commission, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Zambia Police Service to intimidate and persecute political opponents.

He said, while the law enforcement agencies were being used to persecute political opponents, the poverty levels in the country have continued to worsen despite the new dawn administration bragging that it was the best government that the country has ever had.
