ENGINEERING students must aspire to become captains of the industry who will be the architects of various quality pieces of works which will gain and hold the confidence of the local engineers” Christopher Kang’ombe has said.

Mr Kang’ombe, who is Kamfinsa Member of Parliament, said engineering students must always aspire to contribute to putting up quality engineering works that will take the country to greater heights and continue to bring pride to the profession
Mr Kang’ombe, who is also former Kitwe Mayor, was speaking week when he addressed Engineering students at the University of Zambia where he encouraged them to aspire to eventually become captains of industry in future
Mr Kang’ombe said he was grateful to the Engineering Institute of Zambia for inviting him to give a talk as he shared a few professional experiences from the days he had an opportunity to work for Luanshya Copper Mines Mopani Copper Mines and Atlas Copco
” I must say I’m grateful to EIZ for showing regard for me by inviting me to come and address you, the UNZA Engineering students on various issues pertaining to the engineering profession.
I must stress that address will centre around encouraging you to aspire to eventually become captains of industry in future
“You need to aspire to become captains of the industry and contribute to putting up quality engineering works that will continue to bring pride to the profession and take Zambia to greater heights” Mr Kang’ombe said
And after the address, Mr Kang’ombe said he will always remain loyal and committed to the people of Kamfinsa constituency who have continued to support him in various ways and he will strive to deliver on his campaign promises so that he does not betray their trust and confidence
He has been working hard to address the problem of water reticulation, health infrastructure and other challenges facing the constituency because of the support he has continued to receive.
