WE will not allow Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu to hide under the veil of the church to discredit President Edgar Lungu and government , PF deputy media Director Antonio Mourinho Mwanza has said.
Mr Mwanza was speaking yesterday when he featured on ‘Let the People Talk programme on Radio Phoenix.
He said while the PF respects Archbishop Mpundu’s fundamental right to participate in politics, the ruling party will not allow him to hide behind the pulpit.
“If he wants to play politics, let him come out and declare so than hiding under the veil of the church to do his politics,” he said.
Meanwhile Mr Mwanza has clarified that Zambia has not defaulted on any debt as it is been propagated by some opposition leaders in the country.
Mr Mwanza said the PF Government has continued working hard to improve the living standards of the people and that all the borrowed money has been used for the benefit of the country.
And contributing to the same program via phone, PF deputy party secretary General Mumbi Phiri called on the media to take keen interest in the letter written by the Zambia’s Apostolic Nuncio to Zambia and Malawi, Archbishop Gianfranco Gallone where he guided on the need for citizens to respect Authority.
