By MUYANI SHINJABALE
LUANSHYA has recorded 100 per cent compliance levels in observing health guidelines, particularly the closure of bars, night clubs and other listed outlets
District Commissioner Patrick Maipambe, said all the bars, night clubs, casinos and gymnasiums closed before the deadline to help mitigate the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19).
In an interview, Mr Maipambe said the police were on the ground to ensure that the directive to keep such premises closed was not abrogated.
The DC also indicated that all the churches in the Copperbelt town were adhering to the directive as they were closed over the weekend.
He indicated that despite the 100 percent record of compliance, he was still going around the area to ensure that there was no one operating undercover.
Mr Maipambe said that after sensitising the residents on the seriousness of the disease, people were responding favourably.
He said all the shops in the Central Business District had hand wash soaps and buckets for their customers to use.
The DC appealed to the residents to take the directive seriously and maintain the high compliance levels as Covid-19 was a killer disease.
