Police probe Charmaine attack

POLICE have instituted investigations in the matter where UPND official, Charmaine Musonda and three other people were attacked.

Mr Musonda and others lost property worth K 56, 000 at the hands of thugs who were armed with machetes and sticks in Lusaka West at the weekend.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo identified the victims as Ms Musonda aged 41 of Lusaka West, Judah Sikambikambi 51 of Mukwashi Lusaka West, Gershom Masaka 47, also of Lusaka West and Clerk Nchemba aged 35 of Kalundu area.
Ms Katongo explained that the four victims sustained injuries and has since warned those who could be involved in the lawlessness that they shall be dealt with in accordance with the law.
According to Ms Katongo,the incident happened on Sunday around 13:00 hours at Ms Musonda’s residence in Kalundu area.
She said among the items that were stolen were a wrist watch valued at K45, 000, a mobile phone Samsung A11 valued at K6, 500.
“Police in Lusaka received a report of aggravated robbery and assault in which four people were attacked and it is further alleged that property worth K56, 000 was stolen from them by thugs who were armed with matches and sticks,” Ms Katongo said.
