POLICE must arrest people who are masquerading as Patriotic Front cadres grabbing land from owners in Barlastone area in Lusaka, PF Lusaka Province Secretary Kennedy Kamba has said.

Mr Kamba said PF was an organization which respected the laws of the country, therefore, it cannot tolerate anyone who was involved in illegal activities.

He said in an interview yesterday, it was prudent that the police took interest and ensure that those involved in the illegality were arrested.

Mr Kamba said “the police should not take time on the illegality because lawlessness should never be tolerated.

Some PF cadres have defied the order by the High Court issued in 2018 to stop any development at farm 683A/28 in Barlastone belonging to Mr Webster Mhango.

Cadres forcibly grabbed about five hectares from 10 hectares from Mr Mhango.

Mr Mhango then took the matter to the High Court and and proved that he was the rightful owner of the land.

The court was then prompted to issue an order to stop all illegal activities on the land in question.

Despite the court order, the cadres only known us Musonda, Robson Zulu as well as Masautso and others have built houses on the land in question.

According to Mr Mhango, the cadres had been boasting that no one would stop them from developing the land because they were in power.

But Mr Kamba said the law must take its course regarding this matter because no person was above the law.

Meanwhile, the PF in Lusaka has commended Government for having released K22 million towards the reconstruction of City Market which was gutted in 2017.

Last week, the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) national coordinator, Mr Chanda Kabwe announced the release of K22 million by the government for the reconstruction of Lusaka’s City Market which was gutted in 2017.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Kamba said the party was happy that finally Government has released funds to reconstruct City Market so that traders could be provided with a decent trading place.

Mr Kamba said the reconstruction, scheduled to start next week goes to show how much President Lungu cares for the majority Zambians who were working tirelessly to fend for their families.

“Our people will be taken care of, the marketeers are the owners of PF, those are indeed our people and they deserve a conducive and healthy environment for trading,” Mr Kamba said.
